Technology meets its match in brainy beauties!
Thursday, September 25th, 2008Imation India Pvt. Ltd. a subsidiary of Imation Corp. (NYSE: IMN) – a worldwide leader in removable data storage media, launched a unique campaign to promote its TDK Life on Record (TDK LoR) brand in India. Through this campaign, Imation was looking for refreshing college girls with that x-factor as the TDK LoR – Face of the Month Youth Brand Ambassador.
According to Mr. Sanjay Koul, Business Development Director (India & SAARC), Imation India Pvt. Ltd., “To identify the best contestants who can truly shine as our brand’s ambassadors, we recognized that our criteria for selection must go beyond the standard such as beauty, intelligence, effective presentation and communication skills. The TDK LoR ambassador has to exude traits aligned with our brand i.e. a vibrant personality, stylish and leadership qualities. She is someone who enjoys using TDK LoR products to enrich her life and does not compromise on quality.”
The campaign was initiated at some of the top colleges in New Delhi including Maitree, KNC, JMC and Gargi College and received an overwhelming response with over 400 eligible contestants participating. The contestants were judged by renowned celebrity, model, T.V anchor, Director of Meyhar Bhasin Academy Ms. Mehar Bhasin and Gladrags super model 2006 Arti Sharma Model, Ms. Vandana Puri, Archive Head (NDTV) and Mr Sanjay Koul (Imation).
Of the 20 short listed contestants in the preliminary round, the field was narrowed down to 10 finalists. The finals was held in Kamla Nehru College Auditorium on 20th sept,2008 Ms. Ratna Priya Belwal from Maitree College and Ms. Maini Mehrotra from Jesus and Mary College were selected as TDK LoR Face of the Month – Youth Brand Ambassadors. They announced cash prize of Rs. 20,000 each and will also get portfolios to be used in TDK Life on Record’s advertisements and branding collateral.
